As Kim Kardashian reached a new milestone in her budding romance with Lewis Hamilton — going Instagram-official Monday with a Reel that shows her smiling in the passenger seat of a Ferrari while the Formula 1 driver does donuts — insiders reveal what her ex-husband Kanye West really thinks of the relationship.
“This is a good thing. Kanye [isn’t] questioning ‘Is Lewis a good person?’ He’s a sweet, smart person, a good person and an incredible athlete,” a source close to West, 48, said, adding that Hamilton is an “acquaintance” of the rapper’s inner circle.
Last month, Hamilton, 41, accompanied Kardashian and three of her kids with West — daughter Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6 — on vacation in Tokyo. Eldest daughter North, 12, was not seen in posted photos from the trip.
Hamilton and Saint were spotted in a fan video shopping together at SNKRDUNK, a store selling shoes, clothing and rare Pokémon cards.
“He feels at peace right now with Lewis being around his kids,” the source said of West. “He was trustful about that. He loves [Kardashian, 45] in a way that he wants [the best for] her wellbeing.”
It’s a big difference from how West felt about Pete Davidson, Kardashian’s first big public romance after splitting from West in February 2021.
“He did hate Pete Davidson,” the source said.
Kardashian dated the comedian while she and West were embroiled in a messy divorce, finalized in November 2022. During that nine-month relationship, West released a song threatening to “beat Pete Davidson’s ass” and released a music video in which he kidnapped and buried a cartoon version of the comedian, who he snidely nicknamed “Skete.”
“That made me feel really sad,” Kardashian told “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper in October 2025. “That really wasn’t fair for [Davidson].”
The source said that, back then, West “was traumatized because he lost the love of his life” — adding that, now, the rapper “admits why he lost her … He brought a lot of chaos to her … but he also brought chaos to the world. He looks back and says ‘Oh my god.’”
Kardashian has blamed West’s “toxic” behavior for their split, referring to his manic “episodes” on “Call Her Daddy.” (West has spoken about being diagnosed as bipolar and called it his “superpower.”)
“I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids, grandmother, aunts — all of those feelings,” Kardashian told Alex Cooper, adding that her ex had also revealed too many personal issues, including when he publicly said they had considered getting an abortion during her pregnancy with North.
She also cited “lack of stability” and “not feeling safe emotionally and financially” in the marriage, recalling that she might come home to five new Lamborghinis, only for West to give them away to friends in the midst of “an episode.”
Now, the source said, “Ye is at peace. He’s back doing his music, doing his fashion focusing on his positives and the gratitude.” The rapper also “wants kids” with Bianca Censori, his wife since 2022, and “he’s got interesting names laid out.”
Last week, West played two sold-out comeback concerts at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, though Wednesday’s show was riddled with technical issuesthat caused him to berate his crew from the stage.
Over the weekend, Pepsi and Diageo pulled out as sponsors of the upcoming Wireless music festival in London because of West headlining it.
In October, 2022 West tweeted he was going to go “death con 3” on Jewish people, a remark that led to multiple companies, including Adidas to sever ties with him.
In 2023, the rapper wore a black Ku Klux Klan hood to his “Vultures” album listening party, and he promoted swastika T-shirts in a 2025 Super Bowl ad.
Ahead of the March 28 release of West’s 12th album, “Bully,” he took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to apologize for past antisemitic and anti-black comments.
And last November, he met with Israeli-Moroccan Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto in New York to apologize for his antisemitic remarks about the Jewish community.
While holding Pinto’s hands, West confessed: “I feel really blessed to sit here and take accountability. I was dealing with various issues. I was dealing with bipolar also, so i would take the ideas I had and forget about the protection of the people around me and myself. So I wanted to take accountability.”
The source also told Page Six that West has been nurturing daughter North’s music career. She released the song “Piercing On My Hand” in February and has had features on songs by her dad, FKA Twigs and King Combs, the son of Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“He’s proud. I saw North — she said, ‘I’m a rapper now,’” the source added. “She’s fire. She’s a fire MC.”
Asked about Kardashian deciding to homeschool the tween, as People reported, the source confirmed, “She’s being educated between her dad and her mom’s … views of the world.”
