A senior U.S. official disclosed that Trump administration lawyers are pressured to approve “violently illegal” war plans, with dissenters largely purged.
According to sources cited by Zeteo, the White House and Pentagon require lawyers to “get to a Yes” when President Donald Trump demands controversial actions.
Since its launch in late February, the Iran war struck a girls elementary school and killed over 100 schoolchildren and at least 175 people.
Despite the backlash following the deadly strike, Trump is considering escalatory measures, including ground operations to seize uranium and Kharg Island, in addition to destroying Iranian civilian infrastructure.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth simultaneously purged top military officials without explanation, suggesting suppression of internal dissent. Zeteo reported that moral constraints present during Trump’s first term have been replaced by “genuine or performed bloodlust” in both domestic and foreign affairs.
