Elijah Wood sees a show, Gwyneth Paltrow receives an honor and more sightings

The Theater District was buzzing with celebrities last week.

Elijah Wood was spotted in the audience at “Dog Day Afternoon” at the August Wilson Theatre last Tuesday. A spy told Page Six that the “Lord of the Rings” actor was seen bopping around during intermission.

That same day, another eagle-eyed spy spotted Adrien Brody looking cozy in a bathrobe while taking a phone call in the building where he stars in Broadway’s “The Fear of 13.”

Last Thursday night, several big names attended the afterparty for the Off-Broadway opening of “Tru,” which stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Hitting the celebratory soirée at the Upper East Side’s The Penrose Bar was Julie Bowen, Lea DeLaria, Jesse Eisenberg, Cynthia Nixon, Josh Radnor, Jessica Lange, Lupita Nyong’o and Brooke Shields.

Ferguson was also there with co-star Charlotte d’Amboise and the play’s director, Rob Ashford.

The stars also gathered for Women’s History Month throughout the week.

Meanwhile, “The View” star Sara Haines was the presenter at Anne Klein’s Women Who Do Awardsluncheon at the Rainbow Room last Wednesday afternoon.

The event, also attended by Joan Smalls, honored distinguished leaders, including entrepreneur Atoya Burleson, Dr. Hauschka Skin Care CEO Martina Halloran, Chief of Breast Surgery at Norwell Health Dr. Karen Michele Kostroff, French model Tina Kunakey and philanthropic strategist Caroline Kelley Rosen.

While there, Page Six spoke to Haines about her former “Today” show co-star, Savannah Guthrie, amid the ongoing search for her kidnapped mother, Nancy Guthrie.

“I want it solved, I want them to figure something out,” Haines said. “My heart breaks and I have no words for how hard this is to watch.”
