Joseph Duggar is “under constant watch” at a Fayetteville, Ark. jail following his child molestation arrest.
A supervising corporal for Washington County Jail told TMZ on Friday that the “19 Kids and Counting” alum is being held in a “secure” area at the facility as he waits to get extradited to Bay County, Fla.
Because of his high-profile case, Duggar has no access to other inmates for his own safety.

Jail staff, who “are very aware” of Duggar’s notoriety, are checking on him hourly, if not more often, according to the supervising corporal.
In addition, officers wearing body cameras have been posted close to Duggar’s cell to make sure the 31-year-old can’t hurt himself, the supervising corporal said.
However, he did note that no cameras are in Joseph’s cell, per Arkansas privacy laws.

On Friday, Duggar waived his right to an extradition hearing during a court appearance via Zoom, according to People.
For the hearing, which reportedly lasted one minute, Duggar wore a white prison jumpsuit and had his hair slicked back.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming Duggar’s arrest on Wednesday.
Officials said the reality star had been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior toward a victim aged 18 or older.

The incidents allegedly happened during a family vacation to Destin, Fla., in 2020.
The unidentified girl, now 14, asserted to a detective with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office that Duggar had repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap during the trip.
Duggar also allegedly requested that the girl sit next to him on the couch and they would share a blanket, where he allegedly “manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals.”
Duggar eventually stopped the alleged abuse and apologized to the girl, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The girl’s father confronted Duggar about the allegations on March 17, 2026, as the businessman admitted to him and detectives that the accusations were true.

Duggar’s wife, Kendra Duggar, with whom he shares four children, did not appear in court.
His eldest brother, Josh Duggar, is a convicted sex offender currently serving a 12-year prison sentence in Texas.
Josh, 38, reacted to his sibling’s arrestin a statement shared by his lawyer that read, “He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life. He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction.”
