President Donald Trump on Friday revealed new sketches of what the MAGA-fied ‘Trump-Kennedy Center‘ will look like.
Trump, who has promised a rebrand at the Washington, D.C. performing arts center and planned to close the location along the Potomac River temporarily for renovations, shared the images on his Truth Social platform.
“Two renderings of the new, highly improved, TRUMP KENNEDY CENTER!” Trump wrote.
A number of artists and performing groups have left the venue following Trump’s takeover of the historic site, which opened in 1971 as the nation’s official memorial to former President John F. Kennedy.
Multiple executives and organizations have split with the center since Trump seized control and installed loyalist Richard Grenell as president, while slapping his name on the building. The president has since hosted multiple events there, including FIFA gatherings, and made appearances at Kennedy Center honors ceremonies. The venue has become a flashpoint for political controversy during Trump’s second administration, particularly regarding federal funding and cultural programming decisions.
Trump announced the plan for construction in February and said he expected the closure would last for about two years while the rebuilding was underway, ABC reported.
