President Donald Trump announced Friday evening that he had directed U.S. Central Command to execute what he called “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East” against Iran’s strategic Kharg Island.
According to Trump’s statement posted to Truth Social, the operation “totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.”
The president touted the capabilities of American weaponry, stating “Our Weapons are the most powerful and sophisticated that the World has ever known. However, Trump emphasized that he made a deliberate choice to spare Iran’s oil infrastructure, citing “reasons of decency.”
That restraint came with a stark ultimatum.
“However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” suggesting the island’s energy facilities could become targets in a future escalation.
Trump asserted that has “NO ability to defend anything that we want to attack — There is nothing they can do about it!”

The president concluded with a call for Iran’s military to surrender.

Iran’s Military, and all others involved with this Terrorist Regime, would be wise to lay down their arms, and save what’s left of their country, which isn’t much!”
