How outlaw biker gangs actually work, according to a former ATF agent

Frank D’Alesio is a retired special agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who spent nearly two decades embedded in investigations targeting outlaw motorcycle clubs.

D’Alesio also supported national ATF cases involving the Outlaws, Mongols, and Warlocks. From 2004 to 2005, operating undercover as “Junkyard,” D’Alesio led one of ATF’s largest regional sting operations involving the Hells Angels and the Aryan Brotherhood. The operation infiltrated chapters in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, resulting in raids on June 23, 2005. The raids led to the seizure of more than 60 weapons, including 13 fully automatic machine guns, and narcotics. Thirty-four members and associates of the Aryan Brotherhood were arrested.

After leaving ATF in 2014, D’Alesio became an owner of the Black River Tobacco Company.
