John Cusack, Kathy Griffin, Stephen King and More Respond to Trump’s Attack on Iran: ‘Wag-the-Dog War’

Donald Trump’s bombing of Iran is little more than a “wag-the-dog war,” John Cusack wrote via X Saturday. The actor was one of several notable figures who commented on the military action, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“Trump starts a wag-the-dog war – to distract from Epstein and to do Netenyahu ‘s bidding – who’s lobbied for this for over 30 years – Had enough yet ?” Cusack tweeted.

That sentiment was echoed by Kathy Griffin, who wrote on Instagram, “Trump response to his name being cited in Epstein Files 38,000 times — Bomb Iran.”

“Don’t you love seeing him declare war on a country while wearing a trucker hat that says ‘USA’ on it? Behold the leader of the ‘Board of Peace,’” musician Jack White wrote on the same platform. “For the next war announcement donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit? Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference right? don jr. and barron won’t have to fight or die, just other people’s children, so…invade and bomb away! New sign ups for the ‘board of peace’ starting at one billion dollars! Can you believe donny hasn’t received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe in his third term he’ll get one.”

Actor Mark Ruffalo shared an article citing the Trump administration’s deployment of Jared Kushner to negotiate against a war with Iran. “He was sent to make sure we went to war,” Ruffalo commented on Threads.

Rosie O’Donnell, both a frequent critic and target of Trump, shared two quotes from the president in which he insisted his 2024 presidential rival Kamala Harris was the “candidate of endless wars” and that he was “going to stop wars.”

“[H]e lies only and always,” O’Donnell captioned the post.

Under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war, as well as to raise and support armies, provide and maintain a navy, and fund and regulate the military. Impeach the SOB.

Author Stephen King called into question Trump’s ability to march Americans straight into a conflict. “Under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war, as well as to raise and support armies, provide and maintain a navy, and fund and regulate the military. Impeach the SOB,” he wrote on X.
