Political analysts and observers bashed President Donald Trump on Sunday for his “unserious” response to the strikes in Iran.
On Saturday, the U.S. and Israel coordinated strikes on several sites across Iran. Israel struck sites where the country’s political and military leadership were located, which killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the dictator who had ruled the country since 1989. The U.S. struck sites where Iran was keeping its ballistic and nuclear missiles, according to reports.
After the mission concluded, Trump did not immediately return to Washington, D.C. to monitor the situation. Instead, he stayed in Florida at his Mar-a-Lago estate to attend a high-dollar fundraiser, The New York Times reported.
Political analysts and observers reacted to the news on social media.
“Always about the money,” podcaster Reed Galen posted on X.
“That’s because he is an unserious, incompetent, egotistic, corrupt leader. ‘Leader,’” Democratic strategist Maria Cardona posted on X.
“The Nero model,” Carl Worker, a former diplomat from New Zealand, posted on X.
“Three American servicemembers have already been killed as part of this operation, but this guy is still taking time to attend parties,” Derek Martin, founder of Pathfinder Research, posted on X.
