Missiles and drones flew overhead in Iran on Saturday as the United States and Israel launched a major attack, with President Trump vowing to decimate the country’s military and nuclear program and trigger a change in its government.
The attacks began with major explosions in several cities across Iran. Blasts shook the capital, Tehran, and chaos erupted in the streets. It was the first day of the workweek in Iran, and employees hid in offices as fighter jets streaked over the sky, while parents rushed back to schools where they had just dropped off their children.
In Israel, as Iran retaliated with attacks, people took shelter in bunkers and hospitals moved patients to fortified underground shelters.
Sirens and warning signals blared in other Gulf States, including in Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, as Iran targeted U.S. military and naval bases.
