Diagramming the Blows to Iran’s Leadership

The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on Saturday during a coordinated strike by Israel and the United States, President Trump confirmed in a social media post. The attack also killed several high-ranking members of Iran’s security leadership.

Three top officials — Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, Gen. Aziz Nasrizadeh and Ali Shamkhani — were among those killed, according to an Israeli military spokesman. Here is a look at some key members of Iran’s theocratic regime.

Aaron Boxerman and Farnaz Fassihi contributed reporting.
