A powerful coastal storm is poised to bring rain, snow and wind to the D.C. area Sunday into Monday, threatening a new round of disruptions just as last month’s snow and ice have finally melted.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Beltway area late Sunday afternoon into Monday morning because of the possibility of slippery roads, which could impact the Monday morning commute. A more significant winter storm warning has been issued for areas west, north, east, and southeast of the Beltway area, where the Weather Service expects heavier snow that could reach or exceed the 5 inches.
