Iran’s exiled crown prince calls for Trump intervention to ‘expedite the process’ of tossing regime

Iran’s exiled crown prince said regime change in his country “would be the best thing that could happen” as he called on President Trump to intervene to “expedite the process.”

Reza Pahlavi rattled off a host of things Trump and world leaders could do to kneecap Ayatollah Ali Khameni — including wiping out the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, taking down the “ghost tankers” transporting Iranian oil despite US sanctions and freeing all political prisoners held in jail.

He told Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that attacking Iran’s armed forces and economy would be the key to “getting rid of this regime,” saying it would be “humanitarian intervention.”

“These are specific measures … that the world can [take to] put more pressure on the regime, but it will also show much more support to the Iranian people,” Pahlavi said.

Pahlavi has positioned himself as a candidate to lead Iran through a transitional period decades after his father, the former shah of Iran, was ousted from power during the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The exiled prince has made repeated appeals to the US, with Pahlavi praising Trump after the President said a regime change “would be the best thing that could happen” for Iran.

Pahlavi claimed that he would help unify Iran’s opposition with the goal of creating a new and transparent democratic government in the country.

Pahlavi’s appeal to Trump comes as the US continues to build up its military forces in the Middle East as the president ramps up his threats against Iran.

Trump has warned of looming strikes across the country if Tehran fails to agree to a new nuclear deal and end its violence against the anti-regime protesters.
