Adrianne Curry, the first ever winner of America’s Next Top Model, has emerged as an ally to Tyra Banks after a blistering new Netflix docuseries, “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” tore into the show’s “toxic” legacy.
Despite having aired out her own grievances–including claims she was starved and being forced to get a weave that left her partially bald–Curry said she has “mad respect for Tyra Banks,” in a video shared to her social media accounts.
“She is not sorry,” Curry said in a blunt video. “She is not apologizing to you. That b-tch is not effing sorry. She will not bend the knee. And I respect that. You want her to lie? Lie and say how bad she feels?”
The docuseries, which was released this week and is currently burning up the charts on Netflix, attempts to dissect the show’s 24-season legacy.
It features former contestants and judges–including a heartbroken runway coach on the show, Miss J. Alexander, who claims Banks never visited him after suffering a stroke in 2022.
But Curry, who walked away from Hollywood years ago, says the retrospective outrage is missing the point.
“So I tip my hat, my lady,” Curry said, addressing Banks. “Keep on being yourself, which is someone who doesn’t give a flying s—.”
Curry praised Banks for her lack of an apology for how contestants were treated on the show, the drama that was cooked-up, and practicing “psychological warfare.”
“Everyone’s coming to me like, ‘None of the judges are sorry.,’” Curry added. “Why should they be? They’re all loaded … but mad respect for Tyra because that’s hard to push back on that many people trying to struggle session you. She’s just like, ‘F— you, I do what I want.’ And I gotta respect that.”
