Authorities searched a property in southern Arizona overnight in their investigation of Nancy Guthrie’s abduction, officials said shortly after announcing they had detained a person for questioning.
Hours later, local media outlets interviewed a man who identified himself as Carlos and said he had been detained and released. Standing outside his home in Rio Rico, Arizona, the man said it was his property that authorities had searched. “I hope they get the suspect, because I’m not it,” the man said, adding that he does not follow the news and had previously not been aware of the investigation.
