Nancy Guthrie’s floodlight removed from back door as investigators desperately search for more clues: report

Authorities reportedly removed a broken floodlight from Nancy Guthrie’s back door as their search for the 84-year-old continues.

Investigators confiscated the light as they continued combing through Guthrie’s property, located in the Catalina Foothills north of Tucson.

Footage captured by Fox News showed the missing floodlight on Saturday. The outlet reportedly discovered two possible floodlights outside her house, and another two floodlights in Nancy Guthrie’s backyard, one of which is broken.

In the back of her house, two broken floodlights previously could be seen hanging on by a wire.

On Thursday, Feb. 5, FBI Phoenix Special Agent noted that a possible ransom note in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance sent to a news outlet mentioned a “floodlight.”

“Yeah, the ransom itself. One talked about an Apple Watch and one talked about a floodlight,” he said. “And we’re not going to go into specifics. It’s very important that we keep this investigation moving forward.”

Late Friday, police confiscated a blue Subaru SUV — which is believed to have belonged to Guthrie. They also seized a wired camera from the roof of her house. At this time, it’s unclear why the authorities removed the evidence from Guthrie’s home.

When reached for comment about the evidence, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a Feb. 7 update: “This remains an active and ongoing investigation, which includes the review of multiple pieces of evidence. At this time, we will not confirm or release additional details regarding what is being analyzed.”

“As mentioned, numerous times, it is standard practice to seek any video available from nearby residences or businesses, that is part of the ongoing investigation.”

The update comes shortly after it was reported that police were on the hunt for a car possibly linked to Guthrie’s disappearance.

A Circle K spokesperson alleged on Friday that law officials reached out to one of their stores on Oracle Road in Tucson after “receiving a tip regarding a vehicle of interest, and our team has provided them access to the store’s surveillance video.

Nancy, who is the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 1, after she missed church service. She was last seen on Jan. 31 around 9:45 p.m. after having dinner with some family members.

The last known person to see her was her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, who dropped her off at her home.

On Monday, police declared Nancy’s home was being treated as a crime scene. She was believed to be “taken from the home against her will,” possibly while she was sleeping.
