How A.I. Is Reshaping Our World: A Live Webinar for Students on March 4

Register here for the live discussion, scheduled for March 4 at 1 p.m. Eastern time. This event is free. Space is limited. Please register to secure your spot.

Using the form below, teachers should submit students’ video questions for the journalists by Feb. 18.

When The New York Times Learning Network asked students to share their experiences with and questions about generative artificial intelligence, over 1,200 responses poured in. Young people worldwide are wondering about how the technology is reshaping our brains and our culture, what it means for the future of school and work, and what it would look like to develop ethical practices around the development and use of the technology.

Now, The Learning Network is excited to team up with the Pulitzer Center, a nonprofit organization that funds and supports international journalism, to answer pressing questions live and expand the conversation around the potential benefits and harms of A.I.

Join us on March 4 at 1 p.m. Eastern time to hear from Kashmir Hill, a Times reporter covering technology and privacy, and Joanna Kao, a senior editor leading the Pulitzer Center’s A.I. Accountability Network. These journalists will answer your questions and talk about how they navigate the shifting technology landscape to bring the public quality reporting on the latest developments in A.I. and its impacts.

This event is designed for middle and high school students and educators, but all parents and educators are welcome to bring their students. Register here.

In preparation for this live panel, we invite classrooms to explore these journalists’ work and submit video questions by Feb. 18 using the form below.

To explore the work of Kashmir Hill …

  • Start with “I Took a ‘Decision Holiday’ and Put A.I. in Charge of My Life” (November 2024).

  • You can also check out “Why Do A.I. Chatbots Use ‘I’?” (December 2025), “The Professors Are Using ChatGPT, and Some Students Aren’t Happy About It” (May 2025), and the short video “How OpenAI’s Changes Sent Some Users Spiraling” (November 2025).

To explore the work of Joanna Kao …

  • Start with “AI-Powered Productivity Tools That Can Make Life Harder” (October 2024).

  • You can also explore reporting from the A.I. Accountability Network that Kao leads, such as “Draining Cities Dry: The Giant Tech Companies Queueing Up To Build Datacentres in Drought-Hit Latin America” (May 2025), “Inside Amsterdam’s High-Stakes Experiment To Create Fair Welfare AI” (June 2025), and “How AI Hype Deepens Labor Exploitation in the Name of ‘Efficiency’” (September 2025).

Video Question Submission Form

Note: Center the student in the frame from the waist up. The student should speak directly to the camera.

Each video should be about five to 15 seconds long, and no more than 30 seconds.

We will reach out for permission from a parent or guardian if we decide to use a video, so please double check the contact information before submitting.
