For millions of Americans, the price of big-ticket necessities such as housing, child care, health care and transportation has created an affordability crisis. Though wages have increased and the economy is resilient, many families are still working multiple jobs, cutting already-thin budgets and delaying retirement. Others can pay their bills but cannot afford a comfortable life beyond the basics.
And even those who consider themselves financially stable feel economic anxiety, worrying about costs and believing the middle-class lifestyle is simply out of reach for most.
For a series of upcoming stories, we are interested in learning about how costs affect your day-to-day decisions, as well as your plans for the future. We may reach out to hear more about your submission, but we will not publish any part of your response without contacting you first, and we will never publicly share your personal information.
