The head of the U.S. Border Patrol sidestepped key questions about the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, including how many shots were fired and whether the victim brandished a weapon, as other Trump officials have alleged. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara noted that Pretti appeared to be exercising his First and Second Amendment rights. O’Hara told The Washington Post that “it’s very obvious from a lot of these videos that this is not what professional policing looks like in this country today.”
