What we delivered for you from Davos
BI's editorial team at Davos
BI’s editorial team at Davos. (And yes, that’s Claudia Romo Edelman’s Sotol Romo brand behind us. In Davos, you can never get too far from business.) BI

Davos (Business Insider version)

The global elite of Davos probably isn’t what you think of when you think about spunky Business Insider. But we sent a small editorial team to bring you the best of it — BI-style — and I want to tell you about it.

Aki Ito is our chief correspondent on careers, a huge topic for Davos — and for us. She asked people across business tough questions about the future of work (believe me, I was in the room) to help bring insights for your success. She also moderated a conversation with chief people officers from companies across the business world. You’ll see her takeaways from that soon.

Ben Bergman on tech, same thing. Ben is a leading scoop-getter and thinker on our crackerjack tech team. We know you care about tech from every angle — innovation, work, investments, culture, productivity hacks, fun. Ben was all over town meeting with people and moderating panels so that we can be in-the-know on what’s in and what’s out for you. You might have caught Ben on CNN twice last week!

Dan DeFrancesco is the lead writer on this newsletter every weekday. As you know, it’s a smart, witty read across tech, markets, and business — the opposite of aggregation that’s common in newsletters. So it’s important for us to make sure Dan has the widest view of what’s going on in the world. As he hustled around, Dan also wrote our new pop-up Davos Diary newsletter every day last week. We hope to do more special editions to meet these moments!

Kim Last leads our live journalism — events like panels and conferences IRL, and live conversations online. We put on three events at Davos, convening some of the most interesting and in-the-flow people on the mountain. We’ll keep you informed of what’s on our calendar, as conversing with the audience we’re serving is a top priority at BI right now. (Kim also got a now-famous hair blowout at the start of the week — Davos hack!)

We know not everyone can make it across the world. That’s why, in addition to the special newsletter, we did a daily live blog, bringing you everything from the serious to the wacky. Across last week, we did 180 posts, not just from the five of us, but from reporters and editors who did an excellent job following the chatter from around the world. Those blogs, and our wrap post, are available here.

What about me? I was there doing the Davos thing — meetings, moderations. But I also made a point to snap some photos of the fabulous fashion. You can find all that we gathered on that fun front here.

All of which is to say, we dive into the biggest things happening in the world, in our style, for you.

Please stay in touch at [email protected].
