Lisa Rinna backtracks after her attack on Colton Underwood, his ‘stalker’ past elicits death threats: ‘Please be gentle’

Lisa Rinna is backtracking her previous “stalker” comment about her “Traitors” nemesis, Colton Underwood, after his resurfaced restraining order scandal led to the reality star receiving death threats.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum, 62, took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday and asked her followers to “please be gentle” with Underwood.

“It’s come to my attention that my post that I responded to in my ‘housewife mode’ is taking on a life of its own and it’s causing real problems for Colton,” Rinna began.

“I do not want this because Colton and I are great. He was a great and is a great nemesis for me on the show [and] in the game.”

“If you asked me to be a housewife, I’ll bring it to you, right? That’s what I was doing all in the name of the game. But, just so you know, i am totally great with Colton,” Rinna continued, adding that the two stars have “been texting” each other.

“The fact that the backlash is happening, I feel horrible about because I don’t want to hurt anybody. I’m here to play the game and have fun,” she added.

“We had so much fun. I’ve only always had a great time with him. So, please guys be gentle. It’s a game, it’s a TV show. We’re all doing the best we can. Don’t send death threats or do anything to jeopardize somebody’s family.”

The Bravolebrity closed, insisting once again that her remark was “all part of the game.”

A rep for Underwood did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

In light of the controversy, the show released an official statement via Instagram, calling for fans to quit the “unwarranted negativity and “personal attacks” on Saturday.

“We are committed to making our cast feel safe, respected and supported — on screen and off. The cast of ‘The Traitors’ are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment. There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals,” the statement read.

“Let’s not ruin the passion for this show with unwarranted negativity and personal attacks.”

Rinna made her original comment in response to a fan’s post that jokingly called out Underwood after he accused the former “RHOBH” star of being a Traitor on this week’s episode of the Peacock series.

“This is who Colton thinks he’s slick up against? GOOD LUCK BUDDY,” the fan wrote alongside an image of Rinna delivering her iconic “Were people doing coke in your bathroom?” line from Season 7 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Rinna responded, “Let’s talk about you being a stalker….” as if she were talking to Underwood, 33.

Underwood’s ex Cassie Randolph requested a restraining order against him in September 2020. The exes, who met on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” dated for less than two years before they decided to call it quits in May 2020.

According to legal documents previously obtained by Page Six, she accused the former athlete of stalking and harassing her with “unsettling” text messages and claimed he even went as far as planting a tracking device on her car.

In November, Randolph dropped the restraining order against Underwood with prejudice — meaning, she had no intentions to refile the request — in November 2020.
