A pair of media personalities clashed on Wednesday night over President Donald Trump’s immigration raids.
Chris Cuomo, a NewsNation host and former CNN anchor, posted a video responding to a clip of conservative analyst Scott Jennings trading barbs with a younger panelist on CNN over how people who have been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Jennings lashed out at the younger panelist for asking him not to refer to the people as “illegals” because U.S. citizens have also been caught up in the raids.
“And how are you going to enforce your edict on me, anyway?” Jennings sniped.
Cuomo didn’t mince words in his reply.
“What, you think you’re a bully now? You’re a tough guy?” Cuomo said.
“A long time ago, Democrats and Republicans agreed to call them ‘undocumented’ instead of illegal because it seemed inhuman,” he continued. “That’s why. They changed the vernacular, and you know it!”
The video was posted as Jennings receives mounting criticism for the role he plays on CNN. Another CNN contributor, Julie Roginsky, recently wrote on Substack that Jennings often seems to be on the panel just to bring vitriol to the conversation.
