President Donald Trump took to social media Tuesday to relitigate the 2020 election – specifically, to repeat his false claims that the election had been “rigged,” while also demanding those he alleged to be involved to be “in jail, for a long time.”
“These people must be in JAIL, for a long time,” Trump wrote Tuesday on his social media platform Truth Social. “Totally RIGGED ELECTION!!!”
Alongside his remarks, Trump also shared a screenshot of a social media post from X user “Taya,” a right-wing influencer with more than 148,000 followers who claims to be “proud” to be a “white, straight, Christian ICE supporter.”
In the post shared by Trump, Taya promoted false claims that 42,000 people in Nevada voted more than once in the 2020 election, that 1,500 dead people voted, and that 4,000 undocumented migrants voted, claims that Trump apparently supports. In the post, Taya also called for the passage of the SAVE Act, a bill introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) to mandate all Americans present proof of U.S. citizenship before voting.
