Keeping up with the Beckhams.
Brooklyn Beckham notoriously reignited feud rumors with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, in May 2025 when he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, didn’t attend his father’s 50th birthday bash.
The chef finally broke his silence on the matter in January 2026, releasing a bombshell statement in which he claimed the estrangement was caused by his family’s alleged distaste for Peltz since before they got married in April 2022.

In the Jan. 19, 2026, statement, Brooklyn also accused his parents of controlling narratives about their family to the press his “entire life” with “performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships.”
The model stated that “the truth always comes out” while detailing the ways David and Victoria have allegedly tried to manipulate him throughout the years.

Early 2022: Brooklyn and Peltz’s wedding prep

Brooklyn accused Victoria and David of attempting to “ruin [his] relationship since before [his] wedding,” alleging that “it hasn’t stopped.”
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children,” he alleged via an Instagram statement.
“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”
Brooklyn also claimed Victoria had called him “evil” because he and Peltz chose to have their grandmothers sit at their table, “because they both didn’t have their husbands.”

“Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours,” he stated.
The influencer also confirmed reports that Victoria and Peltz were feuding after the “Lola” star wore a Valentino wedding gowninstead of one made by the fashion designer.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” Brooklyn alleged.
Additionally, several Beckham family members allegedly told him that Peltz was “not blood” and “not family” ahead of their special day.
April 2022: Brooklyn and Peltz’s wedding

Brooklyn and Peltz tied the knotduring a lavish ceremony hosted at the actress’s family estate in Palm Beach, Fla., in April 2022.
Brooklyn confirmed Page Six’s previous report that Victoria “ruined” their wedding day when she stole the spotlight during their first dance.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he wrote in his Instagram statement in January 2026.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” Brooklyn continued.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
People reported that Anthony labeled Victoria “the most beautiful woman in the room” before the dance, and an insider told the outlet that Peltz had run out of the room crying.
“Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn’t understand was why,” the source previously said.
May 2025: David Beckham’s 50th birthday bash

Brooklyn and Peltz made headlines yet again when they seemingly opted out of David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in May 2025.
At the time, the former soccer pro and Victoria had shared family photos with three of their kids — Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
The photos also showed Romeo and Cruz with their girlfriends, Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel, respectively.

Brooklyn wrote via his Instagram statement in January 2026 that he and Peltz flew to London to spend quality time with his famous father, but the patriarch allegedly rejected them.
“We waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him,” he claimed.
“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.”
According to Brooklyn, David eventually agreed to visit with him under the alleged condition that Peltz wasn’t invited.
Brooklyn further claimed that when his family later traveled to Los Angeles, they didn’t attempt to see him or his wife.
May 2025: Peltz controlling Brooklyn allegations

Later that month, reports surfaced that Brooklyn was allegedly “being controlled”by Peltz.
At the time, a Daily Mail source labeled Brooklyn as a “hostage.”
Brooklyn refuted these allegations, writing in his latest IG statement, “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards.
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety.”
August 2025: Brooklyn and Peltz vow renewal

Brooklyn and Peltz announced they had renewed their vows in August 2025.
The director’s family joined them for the intimate celebration in Florida. However, the rest of the Beckham clan was notably missing.
Brooklyn stated in his January 2026 social media statement that he and Peltz wanted to renew their vows to “create new memories of [their] wedding day that bring [them] joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he alleged.
Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria would allegedly invite “women from [his] past into [their] lives in ways that were clearly intended to make [them] both uncomfortable.”
December 2025: Brooklyn blocks his family on Instagram

Brooklyn blocked David, Victoria and his brother Cruz on Instagram in December 2025.
At the time, Cruz confirmed the contentious moveafter reports alleged that his famous parents unfollowed Brooklyn ahead of Christmas.
“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son,” the singer wrote via Instagram in response to a report.
“Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.”
In Brooklyn’s latest IG statement, he claimed that his brothers “blocked [him] out of nowhere this last summer.”
January 2026: No chance at reconciling

Brooklyn finally addressed his family feud in January 2026 after he felt like he had “no choice but to speak for [himself and] tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed” about him in the media.
He accused his parents and their teams of feeding the press lies and stated he was “standing up for [himself] for the first time in [his] life.”
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote. “Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.”
Brooklyn also claimed that he witnessed “the lengths” his parents will allegedly go “to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”

“For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief,” he continued.
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
As for what led to Brooklyn finally breaking his silence on the family rift? “There has been a massive breakdown in trust,” an insider told Page Six on Jan. 19, 2026.
“From Brooklyn and Nicola’s perspective, they have tried everything they can to repair the relationship privately with David and Victoria. They’ve tried to talk it out, have tried to have meetings with them, but ultimately in the end, they just didn’t trust them anymore.”
Victoria and David didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.
