Video: Smug Ilhan Omar berates reporter who asks if she’s connected to Somali fraud: ‘Your brain has been fried’

An obnoxious Rep. Ilhan Omar laughed off accusations she was connected to the fraud scandal rocking Minnesota’s Somali community, and belittled a reporter for asking about it, according to a videos she posted to Instagram.

“Why would there be an allegation that I’m complicit? How would I be complicit?” the Minnesota socialist snapped at a reporter asking about the recent House Oversight Committee hearing on the matter.

“Do you just ask stupid questions?” she barked.

The Congresswoman belittled a reporter who asked her about the growing scandal.

Scrutiny is growing over Omar’s skyrocketing family wealth, after she went from nearly broke to being worth up to $30 million in just a year, according to her own Congressional financial disclosures.

The newfound fortune came as a massive $9 billion fraud scheme involving the Somali community in her district unfolded right under her nose – and her hubby’s elusive venture capital firm suddenly spiked in value despite having no documented financial activities or clients.

“Nine billion, really?” Omar responded sarcastically. “That is more than half of the resources that are allocated. So, you genuinely think — your brain has told you that it is possible for half of the resources for our public service to have disappeared? Listen to yourself.”

But it was Omar’s funny math that wasn’t adding up.

Minnesota received $23 billion in federal funds in 2025, according to the state’s office of management and budget – but the $9 billion amount noted by the US attorney for Minnesota refers to money that could have been stolen over nearly a decade.

The self-described “feminist” then mocked the female reporter once more.

“Please read,” she condescendingly tells her before walking away.

When the reporter came back with a clip about House Oversight and Government Reform Chair James Comer (R-KY) asking how $9 billion somehow slipped away, Omar doubles down.

“That’s what Comer believes because he’s as smart as you are,” she said, flashing a smug smile.

“There’s absolutely no goddam way. . . . Ma’am I think you need to get examined because your brain has been fried in some way. . . . I think you need one of those learning centers,” referring to the viral Quality “Learing” Center that became the face of the scandal.
