Candace Cameron confesses to ‘really low lows’ in Valeri Bure marriage ahead of 30th anniversary

Candace Cameron Bure confessed to having “really low lows” in her marriage to Valeri Bure ahead of their 30th wedding anniversary.

The “Full House” star made the candid admission during her eponymous podcast on Tuesday, where “Bachelor” alum Madison Prewitt appeared as a guest.

“I know that during some of those low times — I wouldn’t even say it’s low —you’re just kind of, like, sitting in the shallow of the valley,” Bure explained.

“Where you’re like, ‘This isn’t the best, but that’s just life. We’ll just kind of go through it.’”

“[There have been] lots of highs and there’s been some really low lows,” she added.

The actress, 49, continued to share how she and her husband have felt “stuck” at times but “didn’t have the confidence or just the straight-up courage to be honest enough with each other to say the really hard things.”

“Because I know they’re gonna hurt your feelings and I know you’re gonna hurt my feelings by hearing it, by saying it.”

“I know that we can feel stuck. We want to get unstuck,” she added.

Candace and Valeri, 51, wed in June 1996 and share three children: daughter Natasha, 26, and sons Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23.

The former “View” co-host has been very transparent about the “rough seasons” her almost three-decade-long marriage has endured and how she and Valeri have gotten through them.

Back in July, Candace admitted that things between her and Valeri “went south” in 2020 and credited their son Lev for helping them recover from the dark place she doubted they would “make it through.”

“[Lev] said, ‘You know, I know I haven’t been married. I’m just a young kid. And so it’s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don’t need to be married to know what the word of God says,’” she recounted on her podcast.

“[He] just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it. … I’ll never forget.”

Although she applauded her son for stepping in to save her marriage, Candace has also admitted that her children have put her marriage “to the test.”

Speaking on Prewitt’s “Stay True” podcast in November, Candace noted that when couples have kids, the little ones “come in and they demand all of you.”

“Then they get a little older and then they pit you against your husband.”

“You don’t even realize it,” she said with a laugh. “They’re little manipulative beings that are so stinking cute.”

The devout Christian also shared earlier that month that her and her husband had experienced “times of deep brokenness” throughout their marriage.

The “Fuller House” alum told Us Weekly that her relationship with the former hockey star hasn’t always been “incredible” and “wonderful.”

“There were times of deep brokenness that I felt,” she said, nothing that she and Valeri were able to build themselves “back up.”

She credited her faith in God as the reason behind her and Valeri’s mended relationship, stating, “But God is in the restoration business … [God] loves to restore and make all things new, and He certainly has.”
