FBI executes highly unusual search of Washington Post reporter’s home: report

President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice gave the FBI the green light to search the home of a Washington Post reporter who covers the federal workforce.

According to the paper, Hannah Natanson was at home on Wednesday morning when agents arrived to conduct the search. A warrant indicated that the search was connected to an investigation into Aurelio Perez-Lugones, who contracts with the federal government to do systems administration.

The government accused Perez-Lugones of using his security clearance to take home classified documents, some of which were found in his lunchbox and his basement, an FBI affidavit said.

During the search, the FBI seized Natanson’s phone and Garmin watch.
