The release of video from ICE agent Jonathan Ross’s cell phone as he confronted 37-year-old Renee Good before shooting and killing her as she attempted to drive away was a massive misstep that only made the shooting look worse for the Department of Homeland Security.
That is the opinion of “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, with Scarborough claiming supporters of the agent and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem “blew it” if they thought it would help their case.
After showing the clip that was released Friday, Scarborough said that the video showed Ross was standing to the side of the car as he shot Good in the head. He added, “You want to watch shows that lie to you and want to watch networks that lie to you, and you want to watch podcasts that lie to you. I’m sorry you don’t like the truth, but here are the shots.”
“And the poor fools that sent out the video of his phone, thinking it was going to help him. Those poor fools have no idea. They just made his case worse,” he added.
“What’s happened here is the feds have swooped in and basically shut down any real investigations when you have Kristi Noem off the top saying, ‘Oh, she’s a domestic terrorist.’ Yeah, the same woman that said, ‘Hey, I’m not mad at you,’ her last words were good, ‘I’m not mad at you.’ The woman in the video is not screaming. She’s not being a radical extremist bent on killing an ICE agent.”
Brzezinski wrapped up the segment by noting Ross could be heard calling his victim an “F’ing B” to which Scarborough replied, “After he killed her, he’s then calling her a f—-ing b—-h.”
“Okay, Joe, wow,” she gasped.
”That’s what he said after he murdered, after her — I take that back — after he killed her. After he killed her. That’s what he called her,” Scarborough explained.
“That’s true,” his co-host admitted.
