The 2026 Golden Globes were handed out in a starry ceremony yesterday, Jan. 11, in Hollywood.
The awards show, which honors both film and television, is often seen as a precursor to the Academy Awards, predicting which movies and individuals may take home Oscar gold come March.
“One Battle After Another” was the big winner in the film categories, while “Adolescence” took home four trophies in the TV categories.

With big wins for Best Actress – Drama (Jessie Buckley, who plays Agnes Shakespeare) and Best Picture – Drama, “Hamnet” is cementing itself as an Oscars front-runner; however, the drama is still playing exclusively in theaters and now available to stream online yet.

Ryan Coogler’s genre-defying vampire drama took home two awards last night – Best Original Score (Ludwig Göransson) and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

‘The Secret Agent’
Brazilian actor Wagner Moura won his first Golden Globe for his leading role in the film that also took home Best Picture – Non-English Language. Still playing in theaters, “The Secret Agent” does not yet have a streaming date.

Rose Byrne won her first Golden Globe for her work in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” where she plays Linda, a mom navigating her daughter’s mysterious illness, her absent husband, a missing person, and an increasingly hostile relationship with her therapist.

Veteran actor Stellan Skarsgård won his second Golden Globe (but his first in the film categories) for his supporting role of Gustav in Joachim Trier’s “Sentimental Value.” He plays a film director and the estranged father of Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas), who he reconnects with over the course of the film.

‘Marty Supreme’
A24, the studio behind “Marty Supreme,” has yet to confirm a streaming release date for the film. If you want to check out Timothée Chalamet’s award-winning turn as Marty Mauser in the ping pong drama, you’ll have to do so in theaters.

After sweeping the Emmys in September 2025 and the Critics’ Choice Awards just last week, Netflix’s one-take limited series about a young boy arrested after a classmate of his is murdered swept the limited series categories, winning four of its five nominations.
