How to watch the Golden Globes 2026 for free: Time, host, nominations

After the Critics’ Choice Awards kicked off 2026 awards season last weekend, it’s time for the 83rd annual Golden Globes!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will honor the best in television and film tonight. This year, all titles had to be released between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2025, to be nominated.

In the film categories, “One Battle After Another” led the pack with nine nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, and Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Joachim Trier’s family drama “Sentimental Value” came in second with eight nods.

On the TV side, “The White Lotus” nabbed the most nominations with six, including Best Television Series – Drama and five across both supporting acting categories.

The HFPA gives out two honorary awards each year, too; this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment” will go to Helen Mirren, while Sarah Jessica Parker will be honored for “outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen” with the Carol Burnett Award.

2026 Golden Globes date and start time

The 2026 Golden Globes are tonight, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
