‘Hope this is a joke’: Trump ally launches attack on admin official’s ‘very stupid idea’

An ally to Donald Trump on Sunday waged war against an admin economics affairs official.

Under Secretary of State Jacob S. Helberg, the 22nd Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, posted a Reuters article in which he is quoted titled “Qatar and UAE to join U.S.-led effort to bolster technology supply chain,” as a clear endorsement of the Trump admin plan.

That set off alarm bells with one particular MAGA influencer.

“Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will soon join a U.S.-led initiative to secure AI and semiconductor supply chains, Undersecretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg told Reuters in an interview,” according to the news article. “The addition of those two countries is notable given the Middle East’s history of political divisions and reflects a U.S.-led effort to bring Israel and Gulf states into the same technology-focused economic framework.”

Laura Loomer, the MAGA activist who was recently spotted on the so-called “Doomsday Plane” with Pete Hegseth, over the weekend launched into an attack on the economics official.

“This is a very stupid idea, I must say,” she wrote Sunday. “Why would we want to open up US supply chains for semiconductors to sabotage by Qatar, the funders of the Muslim Brotherhood and a state sponsor of global jihad? Why do we need a bunch Arab Tribesmen in Qatar for the sake of bolstering US technology and semiconductor supply chains!?”

She then concluded, “Can someone name one thing that benefits humanity that has ever been created by Qatar? What a horrible idea! I hope this is a joke…”
