MrBeast is seriously attached to his AirPods.
So much so that they were the No. 1 essential item on his list of the 10 things he told GQ he can’t live without. The world’s top YouTube creator, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, gushed over his AirPods in the interview published on Tuesday.
“These things are a gift from God,” Donaldson said as he held up a pair of AirPod Pros with a green stripe on the case.
Donaldson said he cycles through two to three pairs a day, swapping out one for another once the battery gives out. He has a color coding system for each pair he uses throughout the day. The green pair is for mornings, the yellow is for midday, and the pink takes him through the night, he told GQ.
He uses the AirPods for the 60 to 70 phone calls that Donaldson said he gets in a day, and, of course, for watching YouTube videos. They “make it 10 times more fun,” he said.
However, his AirPods system isn’t flawless. Some pairs have been victims of airplane seat cushions or have fallen out of pockets. Donaldson said he replaces his AirPods pretty often. A pair of AirPods Pro 3 retails for around $250 on the Apple website.
“I probably burned through at least a dozen pairs this year,” Donaldson said.
His list of essentials also included a sleeping mask, a “Dune” board game, and a briefcase with $10,000, of which Donaldson said he has about 500 lying around his studio — for giveaways, of course.
