Federal agents in Minneapolis were involved in a shooting on a residential street, as dozens of protesters shouted anti-ICE slogans behind yellow police line tape Wednesday.
The gunfire rang out on East 34th Street and Portland Avenue, according to an X post from the City of Minneapolis. “Please avoid this area,” city officials urged, without specifying who was involved.
The incident comes amid the largest-scale deployment of immigration enforcement agents to Minneapolis since the start of the second Trump administration.

Minneapolis Council Member Jason Chavez said on social media platform Bluesky that Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino had responded to the scene.
Video livestreamed from the scene by Fox 9 shows agents standing side by side on the street, with throngs of protesters filming the scene with their phones, some cursing at the agents.
“Get the f—k out of our city! We’re not scared of you!” one person could be heard shouting. The Post has reached out to DHS for additional details.
