Palm Springs isn’t just a spot for luxury vacations. It’s also where celebrities are showcasing their standout fashion this month.
Since January 2, actors and musicians have flocked to the California city for the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Miley Cyrus and Adam Sandler are just some of the A-listers in town.
Here’s what they and other stars wore, from glamorous gowns to underwhelming suits.
Teyana Taylor brought the glamour with a shining ball gown.

She looked like a princess in her Miss Sohee gown.
It had a sweetheart bodice with off-the-shoulder sleeves, a plunging neckline, and a full, shiny skirt that puffed around the hips.
She wore it with an elegant matte makeup look and a curly, old-school bob.
Elle Fanning’s teal dress was too mature in style.

The 27-year-old actor arrived at the film festival wearing a vintage gown from Nettie Rosenstein Couture.
The metallic piece had a pleated bodice, a matching floor-length skirt, and off-the-shoulder sleeves that extended above her collarbone.
Though the gown’s color suited Fanning, its modest silhouette aged the young actor. Another vintage piece — maybe from the ’70s instead of the ’50s — might have worked better.
Colman Domingo didn’t shy away from winter fashion. He made it fun.

Dolce & Gabbana designed the three-piece set he wore. It included loose-fitting velvet pants, a matching blazer with a satin lining, and a soft vest worn underneath.
The suit was complemented by black velvet loafers, aviator sunglasses, a satin undershirt, and an assortment of fine jewelry from David Yurman.
Colman’s outfit was chic, on trend, and the epitome of quiet luxury.
The Sandlers missed the mark with their clashing outfits.

The “Happy Gilmore” star posed on the red carpet wearing a jewel-toned suit with a matching purple tie. Though the outfit was eye-catching, it was also arguably too flashy.
His wife, Jackie Sandler, had a stronger fashion moment in a strapless, gold gown with a black lace overlay. Still, her outfit would have been stronger if she’d worn a darker slip beneath the top layer.
Miley Cyrus put her own twist on menswear, leading her to wear one of the best suits of the night.

Her dark ensemble was designed by Haider Ackermann for Tom Ford.
It featured pleated trousers that were tailored perfectly to the musician, a satin blazer with sharp shoulder pads, and a polka-dot blouse with a plunging neckline that reached her stomach.
Paul Mescal looked good, but his outfit was forgettable.

He wore a classic suit for the film festival, pairing a black blazer and trousers with a white undershirt and tie.
Though he undoubtedly looked dapper at the event’s red carpet, his outfit was too understated. It’s unlikely to be remembered alongside brighter, more artistic fashion choices.
Kate Hudson was a vision in red.

She wore a sparkling Georges Chakra gown. The semi-sheer piece had a sleeveless, backless bodice with a deep V-shaped neckline, a floor-length skirt, and a wrap belt that draped across the floor.
The dress proved that red is Hudson’s color.
Mia Goth would have benefited from some accessories.

The actor attended the festival in a strapless, leather midi dress. It had a high-low skirt with delicate pleats and a form-fitting bodice.
Unfortunately, the dress was styled too simply. It would have been more impactful if worn with an updo hairstyle and statement jewelry.
