Meet the members of the mom group Ashley Tisdale branded ‘toxic’ and ‘mean’

Ashley Tisdale didn’t stick to the status quo when she exposed her mom group as “toxic” and “mean” in a scathing essay for The Cut.

In the viral January 2026 piece, the actress wrote about ditching her former pals after being excluded from activities in a dynamic that felt “too high school” to continue.

Fans were quick to point the finger at Tisdale’s star-studded mom group she has been linked to since welcoming daughters Jupiter and Emerson, which includes A-list members like Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore.

At the time of publication of the essay, the “High School Musical” star no longer followed Duff or Moore on Instagram.

Reps for Duff and Moore have yet to respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Hilary Duff

Duff gushed to People in December 2024 about being “in the trenches” with her fellow mom group members.

“I feel like our big connection to one another, even though we’re pop stars or on TV, is we love our kids,” the “Lizzie McGuire” alum told the outlet. “They were little baby worms when we all first got together and started music class at my house.”

“Now, we’re in art class together, and we’re in gymnastics class together, and we’re just, like, moms,” the singer — who is a four-time mom to Luca, Banks, Mae and Townes — continued.

Mandy Moore

Moore proudly labeled herself a member of the “cool moms club” in May 2022.

“Somehow, I got invited into it and it’s the best,” the “This Is Us” alum told InStyle. “I’ve made so many wonderful friends. We all just gathered earlier this week and had dinner and we have baby classes together and it’s incredible.”

“It’s so much fun,” she added. “I’m very, very grateful to have those resources and just incredible women to be able to lean on. We’re all kind of going through this chapter of our lives together.”

Moore and husband Taylor Goldsmith are the parents of son August, son Oscar and daughter Louise.

“All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor raved about the “great group chat” she was in with her mom friends in January 2025.

“None of them are on tour, and I’m the one that’s always like, ‘Can’t make it. Sorry, guys,’” the Grammy winner, who shares sons Riley and Barry with husband Daryl Sabara, shared with People at the time.

When Tisdale dropped her essay one year later, she still followed Trainor on Instagram.

MUU founder Janice Gott is another member of the mom group.

The businesswoman, whose company sells hands-free breast pumps, posted about their fall getaway in October 2025 — and Tisdale was not featured in the photos.

“Mommies said BRB!” Gott, who is the mother of son Teddy, captioned smiling snaps at the Hotel El Roblar in Ojai, Calif.

Tisdale still followed Gott on Instagram as of the day she published her essay.

Gaby Dalkin is a two-time mom and a bestselling cookbook author, whom Tisdale no longer follows on social media.

When the mom group first made headlines in July 2021, Dalkin was one of the participants in Duff’s music class.

The chef’s daughter Poppy appeared in sweet snaps at the time — and Dalkin continued to pop up in group selfies from mom group hangs over the years.

She also has a son with her husband, Thomas.

Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan was also present at the first-ever music class — and her daughter is also named Poppy.

Deenihan frequently is credited with Duff and Moore’s makeup looks, with her other celebrity clients including Reese Witherspoon, Emma Roberts, Kelsea Ballerini and Lucy Hale.

Tisdale still followed Deenihan at the time of publication.

Haylee Davidowitz

While Haylee Davidowitz is a member of the mom group, not much is known about her.

Davidowitz, whose Instagram is private, does regularly appear in group shots — and was present for the bougie fall getaway Tisdale missed.

The “He Said She Said” singer still followed Davidowitz on Instagram when the viral article went live.

Amanda Kaplan, similarly, is a mom group member with a private Instagram profile.

The artist does, however, have a public account to show off her painting and ceramics skills.

Tisdale follows the former.

Whitney Wagner Hartley

Whitney Wagner Hartley, who has a son named Wylder with husband Travis Schneider, is a content creator who gushed over the mom group’s Ojai vacation via Instagram.

“Leveling up but it’s really just making sure you’re surrounding yourself with people you’d trust to only say good things behind your back,” she captioned trip pics.

“Thank you @theroblar for the most necessary 24 hrs, ily.”

When Tisdale published her essay, she no longer followed Hartley on Instagram.

Samii Ryan, founder of an eponymous streetwear brand, seemingly threw shade at Tisdale as the bombshell essay circulated online.

She reposted a video of a man mouthing Megan Thee Stallion’s “Her,” calling it her “2026 mood.”

The lyrics read, “I don’t care if these bitches don’t like me, ’cause, like, I’m pretty as f–k / Just the other day, I heard a ho say / Matter of fact, what could a ho say? With a face like this and a bitch this paid, s–t, what could a ho say?”

Tisdale does not follow Ryan, who is the mother of sons Noah and Leo, on Instagram.
