U.S. Secret Service agents assigned to the Ohio home of Vice President JD Vance “physically detained” a man at the property early Monday shortly after midnight after windows were broken there.
The Cincinnati Police Department took the man into custody in connection with the damage.
Vance posted on social mediaafterward that he and his family were in D.C. at the time of the incident and that someone had tried to break in to the house by hammering the windows. He thanked the Secret Service and Cincinnati police for responding quickly.
The Secret Service said it is coordinating with the Cincinnati police and the U.S. attorney’s office as charging decisions are reviewed.
