Mar-a-Lago party mocked by Gavin Newsom’s Press Office in health care jab at Trump admin

A New Year’s party held at Mar-a-Lago has been mocked by Gavin Newsom’s Press Office in a furious post on X.

The press office took to the social media platform to share a video of the caviar station at the New Year’s bash, which was held at Donald Trump’s Florida residency. Also spotted in the clip uploaded to X was an ice sculpture in the shape of “2026” and a service station for guests to receive the delicacy.

Gavin Newsom’s Press Office quoted the video and wrote, “Don’t worry, 17 million Americans begin to get kicked off their health care this year.” The office had also criticised Katie Miller just moments before, describing the former DOGE advisor and the Trump administration as “ghouls”.

Miller had posted on January 1, “Starting TODAY in California, illegal aliens now have access to FREE government-paid healthcare where providers are prohibited from asking immigration status.”

“Medi-Cal California already provides FREE unlimited healthcare to illegal aliens. TODAY medical providers are prohibited from asking about their immigration status. This is HIGHWAY ROBBERY in the BILLIONS.”

Newsom’s Press Office replied, “FALSE! There is no such thing as ‘free’ or ‘unlimited’ health care for all undocumented immigrants in California.”

“FACT: Unlike you ghouls who want poor people to die on the streets, California has provided health care to extremely low-income people — citizens AND non-citizens — who qualified under the same income rules. No special treatment! Equal treatment.”

The Press Office has consistently criticised the Trump administration, with a previous post dubbing the president a “disgrace”.

In a string of posts made to X, the Governor of California’s official X account backed GOP representative Lauren Boebert’s statement regarding a bill that, if passed, would have given clean drinking water to Southeast Colorado.

A statement released by the Republican Party rep, who earlier this year challenged Trump to release the Epstein files, criticised the president and his administration for disregarding rural Americans.

Newsom’s Press Office had already criticised the decision from Trump to veto the bill, with a post depicting Trump as a member of royalty shared. The image is captioned, “NO WATER FOR YOU PEASANTS, I NEED TO PUNISH YOU FOR A POLITICAL GRUDGE!”
