The parents of a California teen who was crushed to death in his school’s pickup zone is now suing.
Cosmo Silverman was walking between two cars in the pick-up line at Campbell Hall in Studio City, Calif. when a driver of a green Rivian appeared to accelerate, pinning him between the vehicles and causing a chain reaction crash in June.
The 15-year-old was rushed to the hospital, but later pronounced dead, according to Fox 11 citing police.

It is unclear why the driver accelerated, but according to the outlet, the horrific scene was witnessed in front of multiple people including Silverman’s father.
The boy’s family has now filed a wrongful death lawsuitfor “severe negligence and systemic failures in supervision and campus safety,” alleging the school only implemented the proper safety improvements after their sons death, according to the outlet.

“We’ve done quite extensive investigation into how something like this could have happened, this unthinkable tragedy,” said Robert Glassman, the family’s attorney according to NBC4. “And unfortunately, what we’ve discovered is that the design of this parking lot was in fact very dangerous and was not compliant with California standards and regulations.”

Six total people were injured in the incident, including three minors, the FOX 11 reported.
The Post reached out to the school for comment and is waiting to hear back.
