Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, celebrates their 18th anniversary in touching tribute: ‘So lucky’

Bruce Willis’s wife, Emma Heming, marked their 18th anniversary with a touching tribute amid the “Die Hard” actor’s dementia battle.

In celebration of their milestone, Heming, 47, shared a sweet throwback snap of Willis, 70, giving her a kiss on her head as she looks on.

“18 years ago, he became my boyfriend,” she opened her Instagram caption on Tuesday. “With one kiss on the top of my head, time stood still. I’m so lucky to know this kind of love.”

The moment comes shortly after Heming shared a more somber message as she reflected on the difference in this year’s holiday season following her husband’s diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), primary progressive aphasia (PPA).

“Moments that once brought uncomplicated joy may arrive tangled in a web of grief,” she wrote on her blog last week, noting that things “look different” now. “I know this because I’m living it.”

“I’ve learned that the holidays don’t disappear when dementia enters your life. They change,” she added.

The mother of two went on to recall how Willis “loved this time of year- the energy, family time, the traditions,” in his earlier years.

“He was the pancake-maker, the get-out-in-the-snow-with-the-kids guy, the steady presence moving through the house as the day unfolded,” she wrote.

“Dementia doesn’t erase those memories,” she continued. “But it does create space between then and now. And that space can ache.”

In November, Heming revealed the couple planned to come together for the holidays this year despite her decision to live in separate homes as Willis’ condition worsened.

“Bruce loved Christmas, and we love celebrating it with him,” she told People at the time.

“I think it’s important to put ‘Die Hard’ on because it’s a Christmas movie,” she jokingly added.
