‘Monsters’ Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson slammed by ‘Song Sung Blue’ character’s real-life son

Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are being called “monsters” by the real-life son of the main character in their new film, “Song Sung Blue.”

The actors play Neil Diamond tribute band performers Mike and Claire Sardina in the Craig Brewer-directed movie, which is being slammed by Mike’s son and Claire’s stepson, Mike Sardina Jr.

“My father’s rolling in his grave right now,” Mike Jr., 41, told the Daily Mailin an interview published Monday, adding that the film “completely destroyed the one thing my father worked his entire life to pass on — his legacy.” (Mike died at 55 in 2006).

Mike Jr., who is not portrayed in the movie, alleged that he was “purposely cut out of the film” and was paid “a pathetic $30,000” to serve as a consultant.

Angelina Sardina, Mike Jr.’s sister and Mike’s other child from his marriage before Claire, was played in the film by King Princess — but she also aired her grievances with the project.

“I didn’t have any contact with King Princess, who played me,” she told the Daily Mail, alleging that she was also paid the $30,000 consultant figure.

Both Angelina and Mike Jr. also claimed that they didn’t have contact with any of the cast during production, including Jackman and Hudson.

“Every interview that those monsters have been on national television don’t even mention my existence at all, even though I was the most prevalent force in my father’s life, even when I wasn’t in Wisconsin, because I’m his only son,” he said.

“They didn’t even try to contact me… They didn’t try to get more information… They could have very easily asked Craig [Brewer],” Mike Jr. added.

Despite the drama, Mike Jr. and Angelina did attend the film’s New York City premiere on Dec. 11, as did Claire, 64, and her two daughters from her previous relationship, both of whom are portrayed in the film.

Mike Jr. claimed that he “walked right up to Kate Hudson, introduced myself” at the premiere, after the siblings were allegedly warned they had to “keep away from any of the stars and reporters” at the event.

After seeing the film, the brother-sister duo were unhappy with how their dad’s life was portrayed.

“The only thing that was true is the love between my dad and Claire,” said Angelina.

Meanwhile, Mike Jr. stated that he’s considering taking legal action against the production companies like NBCUniversal who were involved in making the movie.

“I want the true story out there and I want it used with truth, with dignity, and I want retribution,” he said. “I want retribution from NBCUniversal [and other parties involved], not just for me, for my father, for me, and for my little sister — my father’s true descendants because they screwed us over.”

The Post has reached out to Jackman and Hudson’s reps for comment.

“Song Sung Blue” is based on Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary film and follows Mike and Claire’s love story and their experience in the Neil Diamond tribute band, Lightning & Thunder.

Hudson received a 2026 Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Claire.

The film also stars Michael Imperioli, Fisher Stevens, Jim Belushi and Ella Anderson.

“Song Sung Blue” is in theaters now.
