How ‘Mormon Wives’ star Demi Engemann’s husband Bret and kids reacted to ‘Fruity Pebbles’ revelation going public

“Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Demi Engemann opened up about how she, her husband Bret, and their family reacted to the infamous “Fruity Pebbles” secret, which revealed a NSFW act the couple allegedly performed together in the past.

“I was a little nervous, obviously, with the Fruity Pebbles and Bret’s kids, but they came together pretty immediately,” Engemann told People recently.

Engemann — who shares stepsons Rome, 20, and Cole, 18, with her husband — noted that the adult siblings of the blended family “were just like, ‘Let’s just make fun of the whole situation. What are you going to do? We just got to laugh.’”

The Hulu personality explained that her stepsons were “good sports” about the situation, and her family “jumped right in on social media” to show support.

“I couldn’t be more grateful for the love and support that I have [from] them. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have that inner circle to rely on for that,” she added.

Fruity Pebbles-gate came to light after Season 3 of the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” when Engemann and her co-star Jessi Ngatikaura took their feud to social media, ultimately exposing its meaning.

“Since she wants to be petty and be an asshole, I think I am just going to go ahead and say that grandpa Bret likes to drink her piss like it is dirty soda,” Ngatikaura said via her Instagram Stories last month, putting the couple’s sex life on blast publicly.

Engemann further shared to People that she was “proud” of the work she and Bret had put into their marriage, as well as being transparent around “hardships” when intertwining families.

Engemann also is mom to daughter Maude, 8, whom she shares with ex Blake Corbin.

“I have openly admitted that Bret and I had a rocky start blending our family and that there were multiple times where I thought this isn’t going to work out,” she said, adding, “I’m so proud of us for being able to weather the storms that we have, and especially when it comes to navigating reality TV and being in the public eye,” noting that the “success rate is very, very low.”

Continuing on the tools she and Bret implement in their marriage, the influencer detailed that they “put in the work” through therapy, open communication, mutual understanding and forgiveness, and making sure “each other’s needs are met.”

“We genuinely, deep down, just love each other and respect each other to our core.”

With 2026 just days away, Engemann admitted she wants to “enter into a little bit more of a slower season of life.”

“We’re preparing to hopefully bring another little baby and expand our family and potentially start building a home, I really just want to bring in a softer, new, fresh energy that just more so staying in my lane, focused on me and my circle, and obviously, helping others where I can.”

This isn’t the first public feud the “Mormon Wives” star has been involved in following the airing of Season 3 of the hit reality TV show.

Throughout the third season, Engemann accused “Vanderpump Villas” cast member Marciano Brunette of sexual misconduct, calling him a “sexual predator” in an episode.

The claims made in the show segued into an online feud, ultimately leading Brunette to sue the reality TV star.

Brunette has denied the allegations, and the legal battle remains ongoing.
