Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s bodies have been returned to their family nearly a week after the couple was discovered stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home on Sunday.
The bodies were given back to the family on Friday following an autopsy by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, reports People.
While the office confirmed that full autopsies had been performed on both Rob and Michele’s bodies, the outlet noted that a full, detailed medical report from the coroner likely won’t be available for the next 90 days.
However, their official causes of death were revealed to be “multiple sharp force injuries,” according to a Wednesday report from the LACME office. Their deaths were ruled a homicide.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Sources previously told The Post that Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, found the couple’s bodies with their throats slit and multiple stab wounds on Sunday. Rob was 78. Michele was 70.
In the hours leading up to their deaths, which police believe took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, Rob and Michele were last seen attending Conan O’Brien’s holiday party on Saturday night.
While there, a lifelong family friend of the Reiners told The Post that the parents got into an explosive fight with their son Nick.
“They had had an argument at Conan’s holiday party, and Rob had been telling people that they’re scared for Nick and scared that his mental state was deteriorating,” they shared.
Nick’s erratic behavior was allegedly witnessed by several other party goers, according to multiple outlets.
In addition to reports that Nick interrupted a conversation with comedian Bill Hader, sources told the Daily Mail on Friday that the 32-year-old, who has publicly struggled with drug addiction, worried other party attendees enough that some guests thought to call 911 following his altercation with his parents.
However, O’Brien was said to have “talked them out of calling the police” that night.
Nick was eventually arrested Sunday evening in connection with his parents’ passing and has since been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
A rep for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six that he was taken to Parker Center Jail in Downtown Los Angeles and later transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held without bail.
Nick made his first court appearance since his parents’ deaths on Wednesday. After, his attorney, famed defense attorney Alan Jackson, told reporters outside the courthouse that an arraignment has been set for Jan. 7, 2026.
