Violent caught-on-video brawl between customers and Connecticut Chipotle workers sparks police investigation

There was some extra beef with that order.

Shocking video shows a violent brawl between Chipotle workers and a customer in Connecticut, triggering a police investigation.

The melee occurred at the fast-casual chain’s New Britain Avenue location in West Hartford on Saturday, WFSB reported.

The startling footage appears to show a customer at the register throwing an unknown object at an employee, sparking a fight that spread to multiple individuals behind the counter as other patrons looked on in horror.

The Chipotle worker then appears to retaliate by picking up an item from the counter and attempting to throw it at the unruly customer, but is blocked — prompting other workers to rush in to help.

The violent customer then gets behind the counter, shoving workers out of the way and pushing the employee to the ground.

At the same time, a fight breaks out between the customer’s female companion and a female Chipotle worker, who begin trading blows as another employee attempts to break up the chaos.

The video shows an employee bear-hugging a man from behind, though he still manages to land a few punches on a Chipotle worker.

Meanwhile, the female customer stands over a worker behind the counter as another employee tries to intervene.

The clip ends with the women pulling each other’s hair.

It’s unclear what sparked the violent altercation.

The West Hartford Police Department said it is investigating the shocking incident, but no arrests have been made so far.

It remains unclear what sparked the violent altercation.

“At Chipotle, the health and safety of our employees and our guests is our highest priority,” Chipotle Chief Corporate Affairs and Food Safety Officer Laurie Schalow told CT Insider.

“We have zero tolerance for guests who mistreat our employees and fail to give them the respect they deserve.”

The incident echoes another Chipotle brawl last December, when an outraged customer in Washington, DC, violently attacked an employee behind the counter after claiming her order had been messed up.

Footage from that incident appears to show a woman carrying an empty bowl, pushing past employees behind the counter, and piling it with food as workers at the Brentwood restaurant told her to stop.

When one worker tried to grab the overflowing bowl, the customer pulled it back and slapped him in the face, sending food flying across the workstation.
