A right-wing radio host just lashed out against conspiracy theories on his same side of the aisle, shocking some onlookers.
Conservative media personality Erick Erickson, the founder of Red State, is no stranger to internet pile ons. This weekend, however, Erickson stunned observers in a different way: by coming out swinging against fringe elements of his own party.
Erickson specifically focused on outrageous Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories, being perpetuated by those on the far right including Candace Owens.
According to Erickson, those who are complaining about the conspiratorial mindset of MAGA influencers only have themselves to blame.
“Between FEMA camps and Ray Epps and Haitians eating other people’s dogs in Ohio and a lot of other stories that never panned out, a lot of people now horrified by the Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson turn played a role in seeding the ground for believing all the conspiracies,” the Republican wrote on X.
Historian Larry Schweikart replied to Erickson, writing, “No YOU seeded the ground because you constantly [lie] about Trump, thus people believe the opposite.”
“STOP LYING,” Schweikart then added.
Another historian, Anthony Gregory, also chimed in: “Electing the king of birtherism started it all.”
