For Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, love is in the air — and on Instagram, X and yachts within range of paparazzi.
The “Part of Me” singer, 41, and the ex-Canadian Prime Minister, 53, hard launched their relationship last weekend in Japan, when Perry posted a series of photos of the two of them together to her 202 million Instagram followers. It was the latest very public display of affection for the high profile couple.
“Tokyo times on tour and more … [heart emoji],” Perry captioned the carousel of snapshots, which included a selfie of her and Trudeau smiling for the camera against a backdrop of colorful foliage and a video of Perry having a bite of uni sushi while Trudeau looked at her adoringly.
Sources say he is relishing the attention that comes with dating a pop star — especially one currently on the road and in the spotlight. Perry’s “Lifetimes Tour,” began in April and runs through December.

“Star f—king is very much the Trudeau brand,” a political source north of the border told Page Six. “I don’t think these things are hard to arrange when you’re in those circles.”
A second source familiar with the pol told Page Six that Perry has provided Trudeau with a much needed ego boostafter his popularity plummeted and he was pressured by his liberal party into resigning at the beginning of the year
“He felt inadequate,” the source said.
Perry was also in need of some positive publicity after a recent string of mishaps and disappointments, including her participation in the much-maligned Blue Origin all-female space flight with Lauren Sanchez Bezos and Gayle King.

“When you are a big star or a politician, that gives you a variable. People either love you or hate you. The Blue Origin trip backfired for her from a PR and branding standpoint … [It] also put her in the political realm with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez,” a music industry source told Page Six. “That really complicates things.”
The fact that her musical output hasn’t been that popular of late hasn’t helped matters.
In late 2024, she released her latest album, “143.” Reviews ranged from tepid to cruel.
The lead single, “Woman’s World,” was panned by some fans online as dated and “generic.” She also drew criticism for her decision to work with controversial record producer, Dr. Luke, who settled a decade of lawsuits and countersuits in 2023in his defamation case against pop star Kesha, who alleged that he drugged and raped her.

“Fifteen years ago Katy Perry was red-hot,” a veteran music industry insider told Page Six in April. “Now her name never comes across my desk. It happens to a lot of artists. They have their moment and it goes away. It seems like a very long time ago that she and Taylor were viewed as rivals on a similar playing field.”
Going to space last spring didn’t help matters. The voyage was deemed “cringeworthy” and Perry and her fellow astronauts faced criticismfor its environmental impact.
The singer, who joked about putting the “ass” in “astronaut”and dramatically knelt down and kissed the earth in her designer blue jumpsuit after landing, received much of the flack.
Then, last July, she confirmed that she and Orlando Bloom had split after being engaged for nine years. The two share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.

It was her latest troubled high-profile romance. She was married to Russell Brand for three years. After they split in 2012, she dated John Mayer and Josh Groban, whom she allegedly named her hit song, “The One That Got Away,” after.
Perry and a shirtless Trudeau were first linked not long after she and Bloom officially split. In July, TMZ published photos of the two smiling and strolling in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park.
They later had dinner at Le Violon, one of Montreal’s most acclaimed restaurants, and Trudeau was seen at Perry’s Lifetimes Tour stop in the Quebec city on July 30.
In October, the “E.T.” singer and the former PM were photographed having a steamy make out session on her yacht.

One image, published by the Daily Mail, showed a handsy Trudeau holding on to the hitmaker’s backside as they embraced above deck.
Later that month, the seemingly publicity friendly duo were snapped in Paris celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday at a cheeky cabaret strip club.
“He is crazy about her and thinks she is the perfect woman,” a source told Page Sixaround that time. “They are simpatico on everything including politics, kids and French food.”
While they didn’t quite make their relationship Instagram official at that point, they heavily hinted at it.

Perry posted a video with Trudeau in the background. Meanwhile, he shared a photo of himself on Halloween clad in a shark costume, a cheeky nod to Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance that included shark dancers.
The source familiar with the former Canadian politician noted that he’s followed in his late father’s footsteps both professionally and personally.
Pierre Trudeau served as Prime Minister from 1968 to 1979 and from 1980 to 1984. He famously dated singer Barbara Streisand, activist and lawyer Deborah Coyne — with whom he fathered a daughter with — and was rumored to have dated a slew of other high society women while separated from Justin’s mother, Margaret Sinclair, 77.
“He told everyone that he wanted to be like his dad, and he wanted to f—k a celebrity,” the source told Page Six.

Trudeau, who separated from Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, his wife of 18 years, 49, in 2023, actually hard launched the relationship before Perry did.
Days before her lovey dovey Tokyo Instagram, he posted a photo of the two of them with Japan’s former prime minister, Fumio Kishida, and his wife, Yuko Kishida, on X.
“Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko,” he wrote.
But, as much as the pair seem to be loving the attention of the relationship, sources say it’s more than a publicity stunt and that they’re bonding over being single parents. Trudeau has three children with Sophie — son Xavier Trudeau, 18, daughter Ella-Grace Trudeau, 16, and Hadrien Trudeau, 11.

“This is definitely real with them. They dig each other,” the music insider told The Post, noting they are being cautious about how they portray their relationship to the world, particularly after the Blue Origin debacle.
“They’re cognizant about not going overboard. It’s not fake. Justin Trudeau – like him or don’t like him – Canadians are wonderful people. It’s for real. In today’s market having two people that have their feet in a political mess, it really complicates relationships,” the music insider said. “They’re sensitive.”
