A human skull was found just in the bushes off the Coney Island boardwalk Tuesday evening, cops said.
A homeless person spotted the remains just off the beach’s iconic Riegelmann Boardwalk between West 32nd and 33rd streets minutes before 6 p.m. and called 911, authorities and law enforcement sources said.

Responding cops found the skull just next to the boardwalk ramp, and investigators later determined it to be authentic, cops and sources said.

It appeared to have been there for an extended period of time, according to the sources.
It was not immediately clear how the remains ended up there or how the person had died.
The NYPD is investigating, along with the city medical examiner’s office.
