Hilaria Baldwin and husband Alec Baldwin made a “gross” $95,000 by selling the first baby photo of their eldest child, Carmen Gabriela.
During her Wednesday appearance on the “Viall Files” podcast, Hilaria was asked about her decision to publicly share photos of her kids on social media
“I don’t think there’s a right answer but I found that the more I [tried to hide them], the more paparazzi there were. The culture — even though 12 years ago is not a long time — it was very different back then,” she explained.

“So I sold the first photos of the first few kids and I donated all the money to charity because it felt like a gross thing anyway.”
“Our first child was $95,000 and I donated all of that. It felt meaningful,” the “Dancing With the Stars” alum, 41, shared.
“I donated it to an organization in Mallorca, where my family lives, for children who have been sexually abused.”

The former yoga teacher further explained that she knew “somebody’s going to make money off of this,” so she wanted to use the “system” for the better and put that money “in a good place.”
“That was what I did with my first few. It became less of a thing as I had more children and for everybody since the business is changing,” she continued. “I just started sharing them on Instagram. It went from tons of people trying to get this photo to, I put it on there I’m not going to get chased around as much.
“What I learned from somebody who’s much more famous than me, is the more that you put the photo up, the lower the bounty is and the less harassment you get.”

“It just depends on weighing how much mental distress it was causing us. It was tremendous mental distress [on] Alec who has a lot of trauma. It would really bother him and get us into not fun situations. So I was just like, ‘This is better.’ So that’s why I do what I do.”
Alec and Hilaria share seven children: Carmen Gabriela, 11, Rafael Thomas, 9, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 8, Romeo Alejandro David, 6, Eduardo Pau Lucas, 4, María Lucía Victoria, 4 and Ilaria Catalina Irina, 2.
The “30 Rock” actor also shares 30-year-old daughter, Ireland, with ex-wife, Kim Basinger.

Ireland and Hilaria have formed an extremely close bondsince the latter joined their family and during her Wednesday podcast appearance, Hilaria referred to Ireland as one of her “babies.”
The couple — who have a 26-year age gap — first met in 2011 and began dating soon after. The pair moved quickly, getting engaged in April 2012 and marrying two months later on June 30, 2012.
They welcomed Carmen Gabriela in August 2013 and continued to grow their family in the years to come.
