Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to reach out to her estranged dad, Thomas Markle, again following his emergency leg amputation.
On Monday, the Times UK reported that Meghan, 44, was hoping to get a letter to Thomas, 81, within 24 hours after identifying the Philippines hospital where he has been recovering since last week’s surgery.
A source close to Markle told Page Six on Monday that she had been calling hospitals to locate Thomas so that a letter could be delivered to him.

A rep for Meghan previously told Page Six that she had “reached out to her father.”
However, her estranged sister, Samantha Markle, later insisted in a series of scathing X posts that “there’s been no contact.”
In fact, Samantha, 61, argued that reports claiming otherwise were “a PR stunt because of public scrutiny.”
Thomas then told the Daily Mail on Sunday that he was “confused” by the reports because he had not received any messages from his daughter.
The retired lighting director added that he did not change his number, “so she could always get in touch with” him.

Thomas went on to say that he wants to see the Duchess of Sussex “one more time” before “it’s too late,” insisting he doesn’t “want to die estranged.”
“I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter. I have never stopped loving her,” he told the outlet, pleading, “I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband, too.”
Meghan reportedly lost her father’s number, so she emailed him instead. However, it was apparently to an address he hasn’t used in years. Plus, according to other family members and close friends, he never uses email.
Per the Times UK, Meghan has personally called multiple hospitals in the Philippines in an effort to locate Thomas so she can write him a letter and have it delivered to him.

“There’s been progress, but she hasn’t made contact [yet],” a source close to the former actress told the outlet. “It’s hoped and expected that there will be some form of communication in the next 24 hours.”
Her reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Thomas — who has experienced health issues in recent years — had his leg amputated below the knee after a “huge blood clot in his thigh… cut off blood flow to his lower left leg,” his son, Thomas Markle, Jr., 59, previously told the Daily Mail.
Meghan has been estranged from her dad since shortly before her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry because she learned he had staged paparazzi photos and leaked info about the couple to the press.
