Miley Cyrus shared a positive update about her godmother, Dolly Parton, amid the country music icon’s health issues this year.
The “Party in the U.S.A.” singer said Parton isn’t slowing down any time soon.
“She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Cyrus told Entertainment Tonight on Monday.
“The show must go on,” she continued. “She’s just excited to get back to work.”

Parton, 79, looked healthy and upbeat in a recent Instagram video wishing her fans a happy Thanksgiving. The video came a month after she postponed her Las Vegas residency due to health issues.
She shared with fans at the time that doctors told her that she “must have a few procedures” done.
“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she quipped.
“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she continued.

Fans were later alarmed, however, when the “Jolene” singer’s sister Freida shared on Facebook that she was “up all night praying” for Parton. Freida eventually clarified her comments after fans expressed concern.
“I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” she wrote. “She’s been a little under the weather.”
Parton herself took to X to declare she “ain’t dead yet!”
“Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here,” she said in a video clip. “I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease. Those that seemed to be real concerned, which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers.”

Back in July, Parton did say she was putting music on hold after the death of her husband, Carl Dean. The two were married for nearly 60 years before he died at age 82.
“I can’t do it right now ‘cause I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now,” Parton explained.
Despite being “stalled” for now, the singer promised her music career wasn’t over.
“I’ll write something else, though, if it comes. I’m just putting that all on hold,” she said.
