The actor was taken into custody when customs officials allegedly found 78 milligrams of crystal containing MDMA in his tote bag, an Okinawa Regional Customs spokesperson told Reuters on Thursday.
The 36-year-old, who plays Grégory Elliot Duprée on “Emily in Paris,” is currently being held in a prison in Tomigusuku, Okinawa, a police station official confirmed to the outlet.

On Thursday, local customs officials reportedly filed a criminal accusation to kick off formal charging proceedings.
It remains unclear whether the playwright, who has been detained for nearly three weeks, has entered a plea or obtained legal representation.
Harris’ rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Harris, notably, had traveled to Okinawa Island from Britain with a layover in Taiwan.
He was in Japan to sightsee.

The controversial play, which came out earlier this year, depicted “a not-very distant future in which Prince George has just come out of the closet.”

At the time, our source gushed that Harris was “exactly the producer Broadway needs right now.”
As for his acting career, Harris has had small roles in the “Gossip Girl” reboot and “What We Do in the Shadows.”
He has a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.
